"A Spirit of Thanksgiving..."

Thanksgiving for me this year...
exceeds the feelings of past years.
Many of my hopes and dreams...
seem gone with the wind..
yet much the sadness and fear
has been replaced by more smiles
and great friends have been a Godsend.

Saying thanks is not hard.
The longer I live
the more evidence of the reward
when we give
and the comfort that comes from
                                                                   family and friends.

                                                              On this  Thanksgiving
                                                                another opportunity to speak
Let's us not grope for the words we seek.
                                                     A simple..Thank you...spoken from the
warmth and comfort of your heart
will suffice...but remember with whom your
                                                            messages start.
            The Master of all Blessings!

The Thanks…
We give
holds us to a higher standard
to live
and an attitude of humility.
There is so much to be thankful for...
So much more
than we expected
or we deserve.
Let us begin
by acknowledging our Maker
rededicating ourselves to each other...
Further....
a move to a finer holding
all while folding
old tents
and moving to a new found rest
Remembering time spent
but not dwelling on the past.

Alas...
The best
of all may just come when
old bells toll
and a masterfile of memories
touch our inner souls..

and make for harvest homes.

Gary Roberts is a born again believer in Jesus Christ and one who cherishes study, words, and teaching. He is retired on disability, but looks to each day as a special time to study. Gary is currently a member of Fountain Baptist Church. Past relationships with Aversboro Road Baptist - Garner, NC and Holly Hill Baptist - Burlington, NC have been very rewarding with a teaching and card ministry. Thus, Gary's background is conservative Southern Baptist. His beliefs nor his teaching are politically motivated and only a love for the Lord and His Word is at the forefront.
